A MOVING MEDITATION

1. BE BAREFOOT

2. RUB YOUR CLEAN HANDS TOGETHER TO GENERATE ENERGY; IF REIKI ATTUNED, INPUT REIKI SYMBOLS

3. CREATE A BALL OF ENERGY BETWEEN YOUR ACTIVATED, EXTENDED PALMS; PULSATE YOUR OPEN PALMS TO & FRO;  FEEL INTO THE VIBES: THEIR DENSITY, TEMPERATURE, SPEED

4. STATE OUT LOUD:  “I ESTABLISH MY DIVINE PRESENCE ON EARTH.”

5. RAISE THE BALL ABOVE YOUR HEAD AND THEN SPREAD THE ENERGY AROUND YOUR BODY

6. GATHER A SECOND ENERGY BALL BETWEEN YOUR ACTIVATED PALMS; TAKE THE SECOND BALL UP & AROUND

7. REPEAT A THIRD TIME

8. GATHER A FORTH ENERGY BALL

9. STATE OUT LOUD: “I DECLARE MY DIVINE PURPOSE FULFILLED.”

A Tarot Reading for the Virgo New Moon: September, 2018

Early Sunday morning and my babes are watching cartoons, so I pick up Jung’s “Man & His Symbols” to flip through.*  A passage catches my eye:

We can be possessed and altered by moods, or become unreasonable and unable to recall important facts about ourselves or others, so that people ask: “What the devil has got into you?” We talk about being able “to control ourselves,” but self-control is a rare and remarkable virtue. We may think we have ourselves under control; yet a friend can easily tell us things about ourselves of which we have no knowledge.

This leads me to consult my Tarot deck, for the cards are such friends.

I lay out a reading dedicated to this new moon in Virgo, a sign factoring heavily in my chart.  In Jungian fashion, I place the cards in a circle, gravitating towards the symbols, writing one phrase per card and thus building a story:

  • A crab frantically changing shells; parallel moves; alluding evolution with material distraction

  • Chained to a codependent environment; viewing life through a lens of justifiable excuses

  • Escape - Clarity - hidden in plain site; how to find / unlock / open the door?

  • Earthly Surrender calls in guidance, spiritual and human community, a birds eye view to facilitate big picture pattern sorting

  • Moving and cleansing with joyful abandon

  • A skin is shed, akin to a tree dropping it’s leaves in the fall; no mourning over Mother Nature’s cycles

  • An ascendant ladder appears, forming rung by rung

  • Inherently building a sacred, living framework; warmed by a central hearth; a breathing container

  • Naked, Baring Soul: safe within aligned & activated boundaries

*I recently donated 85% of my library and I am using the remaining 15% on a near-daily basis.

COS'È UNA MODERN FENG SHUI COWBOY?

ONE / UNO

A Modern Feng Shui Cowboy is at Peace in Wide Open Space.  Tight Quarters are at times unavoidable.  The optics of tight quarters are indeed avoidable.  Curated Ambiance: Room to Roam.  To a Modern Feng Shui Cowboy, Room to Roam is akin to Air to Breathe.

TWO / DUE

A Modern Feng Shui Cowboy communes with nature - flora & fauna alike.  Declared Boundaries create Sacred & Safe Space.  Boundaries are established with respect, and thus are respected.  Within a boundary resides the tandem of Harmony & Leisure - continually birthing Sensuality.

THREE / TRE

A Modern Feng Shui Cowboy honors Gaia’s inherent rhythms, daylight & moonlight, seasonal shifts and their implications for anima & animus, a Wabi-Sabi approach to finding serenity in the cycle of rebirth.

Pioneering the return to the raw beauty of physical limitations; the coming Home to Self; the sheer being-ness Return commands of the Seeker.

AT SALVATION MOUNTAIN

FOUR / QUATTRO

A Modern Feng Shui Cowboy philosophizes in the great outdoors, musing on topics that arrive via Knowings, dialoging with Higher Self & Environment.

Methodically unplugged, A Modern Feng Shui Cowboy is untethered to the dominant narrative, to the pervasive messaging of fear, to the algorithms of remaining in the bell curve’s swollen middle.  This one is a pure Romantic, incorporating Mythology & Metaphor into Lived Experience.

FIVE / CINQUE

A Modern Feng Shui Cowboy utilizes commerce for necessity.  Expression of self is a necessity.  A functioning household is a necessity.  Preserving Gaia’s resources is a necessity.  Living sans the noose of debt is a necessity.

A Modern Feng Shui Cowboy buys original classics, drawn to natural materials with a definitive point of view.  A Daily Uniform with Whimsy by night.  Radical chicness melds worldly creative license with a utilitarian underbelly.  Aided by auspicious personal style, though never hampered by excess.

SIX / SEI

A Modern Feng Shui Cowboy balances Solitude & Community by asking: When do I ride solo?  When do I ride with team?  When do I gather loved ones fireside… to cook a simple hearty meal…to share stories… to partake in Rituals of Gratitude?

Salt Burn, An Energetic Recipe

Introduction

A Salt Burn is an effective and enjoyable way to clear the energy in a space, provided you have an aptitude & respect for open flame, ventilation to allow the negative energy to exit and most vitally, common sense.

  • Ideal for a ‘new to you’ space

  • Also ideal for an energetic reset in an area of your home where discord or an accident has transpired

  • Also ideal for cleansing a particular gua, such as Love... after a breakup, for example

  • Also ideal for a meditation: alight and meditate on the flame until it dissipates

In summary: Ideal

Ingredients

  • Epsom Salt, Unscented

  • High Proof Alcohol: Bacardi 151, Everclear... or even Rubbing Alcohol

  • Tap Water

Supplies

  • Medium, Shallow Bowl

  • Heat Resistant Ramekin or Cup

  • Matches

  • Fire Retardant Blanket or Fire Extinguisher

  • Optional: Cutting Board

Procedure

  • Establish your intention for the Salt Burn; internalize and/or vocalize

  • Set the stage for the Salt Burn, by clearing the selected area of fire hazards; have a fire extinguisher nearby

  • Open a nearby window; this is the exit route for bad vibes

  • Fill the medium, shallow bowl with a bit of lukewarm water

  • Place the water bowl either directly on the ground or upon a cutting board

  • Place the ramekin or cup inside the water bowl

  • Hold your cupped palm angling into the cup, and slowly pour the Epsom salt into your open palm, which gently cascades into the cup; this brings your energy into the equation

  • Fill the cup halfway to two-thirds, no higher

  • Pour the alcohol over the salt, so that it just covers the salt; recite a prayer or mantra while you pour the alcohol

  • Light a match and with care, place into the soupy mix; keep your face/hair away

  • The size of the flame will correlate with the intensity of the energy being cleared; cool, right?

  • Sit Back & Enjoy

  • Stay Present, in all senses of the word

Clean Up

  • When the flame self extinguishes, let the setup cool to the touch

  • Dispose of the salt in your garden, or in an outside trash can, for you do not want the remnants inside

  • Wash the dishes; dry and store for another Salt Burn

  • Enjoy the resulting serenity
